What are veneers?

Veneers are wafer-thin shells that the practice bonds to the front of your teeth. Veneers are attractive and natural-looking — they’re custom shaped and colored to match your teeth.

Veneers can serve a variety of purposes, including:

  • Strengthening weak teeth
  • Disguising cracks, stains, or gaps
  • Covering misshapen teeth

Veneers are permanent and don’t require major surgery or altering the structure of your mouth. 

In addition to veneers, Gentle Touch PC offers Lumineers®, which are like veneers, but thinner. The practice uses veneers made from a thicker porcelain material; their Lumineers are made from a thinner Cerinate® porcelain.

Are veneers right for me?

To find out if veneers are right for you, schedule a consultation with Gentle Touch PC. At your consultation, your team spends some time examining your smile, as well as discussing your treatment goals with you.

If they determine that veneers are the best option for you, they set up another appointment, during which they create a mold of your upper and lower teeth, and send it, along with photos and your pertinent dental records, to a dental lab. 

During that visit, they also determine the shade you’d like your veneers to be.

After five to 10 business days, the lab sends your new custom veneers or Lumineers to Gentle Touch PC. 

During a second visit, the practice bonds the veneers to your teeth. In order to prepare your teeth, they first custom fit each veneer to each tooth. Then, they clean the teeth and lightly etch their surfaces.  

Finally, the practice applies a special cement to your teeth and carefully places the veneers.
